This is Rusty today, ready to race. By the way all of those trophies are from karts, not cars.

Rusty at Sebring

This Rusty at Sebring on the short course (The kart course) in the carousel.

Rusty at Sebring

This is at Sebring racing a Saab, (I would say "at speed" but there isn't that much speed.)

Rusty at daytona

This is one of my favorite pictures from Daytona, me and another spridget. This is in the infield, past the big kink, in the right hander. (next to the outhouse)

This is the pits at Daytona when somebody cancelled their pit reservation I was there. Can you guess which is me?

Before

This is Rusty when he first showed up at the door. This is after his first bath where I scraped away fungus the size of lettuce. He was also home to several thousand wood spiders. The last of them left when the welding started. Note the absence of floor pans, hence his name "Rusty".

Rusty's trunk and fuel tank area

This is a shot of the fuel tank area showing the cell, fuel vent and in the center the halon nozzle. In order to install the cell a hole was cut in the floor and then boxed, it runs into a 2x4x.083 boxed steel tube. In case he goes rearend into a wall, he'll have a little extra reinforcement.

Rusty's interior

This is the interior shot showing the door bars, the seat is mounted to the roll structure so that if the tubes bend the seat will go with it instead of the bars coming into the seat. The gauge panel was made of carbon fiber, care of a formula atlantic wreck. The switch at the top left is the start button, under it is the choke handle. On the right is the switch for lights, ignition, fuel pump and the rocker switch below that is for the electric fan. Top right is the fire bottle handle and in front of that on the cowl is the required master switch, which kills all power. The huge light in the center is the oil pressure warning light.

Rusty's engine bay

Rusty is extremely stock, he has the SU carbs that have been redone to race specs and a Kent cam. The ignition has been recurved. The head shown is also stock but I'm experimenting with another that has been ported and polished. Believe it or not, it is a stock bore 1275cc engine.
